Professional Gemologist Program     There are two exams to become certified as a Professional Gemologist; a written or theoretical exam, and a practical exam. The theoretical exam will be sent to you by email. For the practical exam, a package of 15 gems will be sent to you through the mail.      There is a $30 grading fee for each exam. In addition, a $200 deposit is required for the gems used in the Practical Exam. This will be refunded, provided all the gems are returned. You will be charged for any gems lost or damaged.
