I am a silversmith and a new lapidary enthusiast and have recently aquired a quantity of rough Oregon Sunstone, some of which I would like to have faceted. I have heard of people shipping rough overseas for this purpose, but since I know pretty much nothing about it, I wondered if you could advise me. I have a local quote for $150 CDN per finished gem. I am in the Vancouver Canada area.
For a precision faceted gem, done by a lapidary in Canada, I think it’s a very fair price.

You can have your material faceted overseas for 30 to 90 cents per carat.
