Need help identifying this rough

Size- 14 grams/70 carats

Color- burnt ugly orange without light, tangerine/golden yellow/ with pink tones under direct and back lighting.

Hardness is over 7.5+ as it put scratches in my test calcite, raw Quartz, and polished amethyst.

I have some ideas of what it may be but I’d like to hear your thoughts before I come to any conclusions.

If anyone would like to help I’d appreciate it!

Thank you, Kellie

Hi, really only guessing with photo’s but at first glance it looks like it could be chalcedony except chalcedony has a hardness of 7. other than that could be a garnet?? hessonite. realistically you need to get an RI and specific gravity and this should give you a good idea on the stone.

good luck

Hi…
