    Garnet – Natural, Specimen, Red

During the Middle Ages, some people believed dragons had eyes made of garnets. These translucent garnets are still attached to the graphite schist where they formed. When backlit by a flashlight, they look like "dragon eyes." This specimen came from the Red Embers Mine in Erving, Massachusetts, USA.
