Black Black Opal, 0.58 ct Cabochon from Australia

This is a smaller black opal but fairly rare in that it shows ruby red along with green and gold flashes on a black base. The colors are only moderately intense in dimmer lighting, but also are a flag harlequin type of pattern…just on a smaller stone.
