Pearl
This natural pearl bracelet dates to the turn of the 19th century and features human hair as a central "gemstone." (Human hair was a popular material in both Georgian and Victorian jewelry). Notice how the pearls are all small and baroque in shape. Photo by the Walters Art Museum. Licensed under CC By-SA 3.0.
