Tanzanite (Zoisite, Thulite)

2-Star Square (TANZ4.JRG)

87.7% Light Return
Angles for R.I. = 1.69
41 facets + 8 facets on girdle = 49
4-fold, mirror-image symmetry
96 index
L/W = 1.000 T/W = 0.457 T/L = 0.457
P/W = 0.417 C/W = 0.208
H/W = (P+C)/W+0.02 = 0.644
P/H = 0.647 C/H = 0.322
Vol./W^3 = 0.274

Addition # 2 – I designed this stone for some thin, small pieces of material that I had. It makes very good earrings, and it is easy to set (square corners). Not a lot of facets, it cuts fast, 1/4-3cts. Cut in refractive indexes 1.64 to 1.93 with no changes. This works well in Peridot
